  2. students into industry to experience work for 
  3. a short period of time. Typically, 15-16 year 
  4. olds spend 1-2 weeks in a work experience 
  5. placement. It helps them gain some 
  6. understanding of the world of work and of the 
  7. opportunities that might be available to them 
  8. when they leave full-time education.
